Songwriter Mike Leander is best known for penning such '60s pop songs as "I've Been a Bad Bad Boy" (a hit for British rocker Paul Jones), and "Lady Godiva" (a hit for Peter and Gordon). Born Michael Farr in East London, Leander started out working in studios with artists like Phil Spector and the Rolling Stones. In addition to songwriting, Leander scored a handful of films and television programs such as Ready, Steady, Go! He composed his first film-score for the Rolling Stones documentary Charlie Is My Darling. He helped arrange the music for the feature film To Sir With Love (1967) and produced the album for Jesus Christ Superstar. Leander played an important role in launching singer Marianne Faithful's career. During the early '70s, Leander teamed up with Gary Glitter (aka Paul Gadd) to write a series of catchy, insubstantial pop songs.
