With an impossibly cool demeanor and a starkly handsome visage, U.K. actor Robson Green embarked on a formidable dramatic career in his early twenties. He subsequently became a sensation in his native Britain, with a marked emphasis on television roles, and amassed well over 200 appearances within 20 years.
Green launched his entertainment career on a low-key basis, as one of the presenters in the 1984 employment documentary Who Needs a Union? This marked the actor's last nonfiction work for some time, however, and in successive years, he became a veritable staple on such English fiction series as Casualty, Soldier Soldier, Reckless, and Touching Evil. In 2002, Green gained additional notoriety as Liam Marple -- a dirt-digging tabloid journalist who sets out to expose skeletons in the closets of female prime minister Laura Bowden (Caroline Goodall), but ultimately falls in love with her, in the popular British telemovie Me & Mrs. Jones. Green continued his explorations of domestic discord with the visceral one-hour dramatic feature Beaten (2005) and the same year's shocking miniseries Like Father, Like Son. In the latter, Green portrayed a young man engaged to be married but plagued with problems from his intended's psychopathic ex-husband and equally malevolent teenage son.
