Lewis D. Collins

American-born Lewis D. Collins was a theater director before calling the shots on a series of two-reel films. Collins' first feature was 1930's The Devil's Pit, which he also scripted. The bulk of his output from 1931 to 1952 consisted of economical detective, Western, and jungle pictures. Lewis D. Collins also shouted "action" and "cut" on such Universal serials as Junior G-Men of the Air (1942), Adventures of the Flying Cadets (1943), Adventures of Smilin' Jack (1943), The Great Alaskan Mystery (1944), Mystery of the Riverboat (1944), Raiders of Ghost City (1944), Jungle Queen (1945), The Master Key (1945), The Royal Mounted Rides Again (1945), Secret Agent X-9 (1945), Lost City of the Jungle (1946), Mysterious Mr. M (1946), and The Scarlet Horseman (1946). Lewis D. Collins should not be confused with British actor Lewis Collins.
