Full Biography (Back to top)

The daughter of famed producer John Foreman ("Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid"), actress Amanda Foreman followed in her father's footsteps to a career in the entertainment industry, starting out in high school plays and moving toward a successful film and television acting career. Dark-haired, with striking and expressive eyes and a flair for the dramatic to which the camera responded well, Foreman had an early television credit in the 1989 TV-movie "The Preppie Murder", an ABC offering based on the infamous Central Park homicide. Her next effort was in the similarly fact-based "Murder Without Motive: The Edmund Perry Story" (NBC, 1992). 1992 also saw the actress make her big screen debut with a part in the sentimental Mel Gibson drama "Forever Young". "Live Wire", a political thriller, also featured Foreman and was aired that same year on HBO. She continued to rack up credits, appearing in 1993's "Sliver", and turning in an impressive starring performance in Laura Dern's directorial debut "The Gift" (aired on Showtime in 1994).

After a couple of years off the scene, Foreman returned in good form with a featured role in the HBO original film "Breast Men", a comedic dramatization of the invention of silicone implants. In 1998, Foreman was cast on The WB's college drama "Felicity" playing Meghan, the dark and moody party girl who rooms with the titular new kid on the block. While Meghan's antics were often outrageous, she proved a much-needed foil for the too-perfect Felicity (Keri Russell) and added a great deal of comic relief to the series. Although she continued to take on other projects, including a 1999 recurring role on the CBS police drama "Nash Bridges" and an appearance in the Fox Family Channel TV-movie "Storm" (1999), "Felicity" proved the best showcase for Foreman's talent. Made a regular in 1999, she raised her profile on the series, and her exposure led to a featured role in the comedy "Daddy and Them" (2001), directed by and starring Billy Bob Thornton.
