Full Biography (Back to top)

Born on Sept. 23, 1980 in Raleigh, NC, Aubrey Dollar developed her taste for performing through her mom, Terri, an actress who took Aubrey and sister Caroline along on auditions. Growing up, Dollar performed with the Raleigh Little Theatre and the Broughton High School show choir. She made her feature film debut with a small part in “Heavyweights” (1995), a Disney movie shot in her native North Carolina about a fat kid who rebels after being sent to fat camp. Dollar also landed minor roles in several made-for-TV movies, including “Murderous Intent” (CBS, 1995-96) and “Kiss and Tell” (ABC, 1995-96). After high school, Dollar went to Boston University, but left after two years when she decided to move to New York City and take acting classes. Once in New York, Dollar was the fourth actress to play Marina Cooper, only child of police chief Frank Cooper (Frank Dicopoulos), on the daytime soap, “Guiding Light” (CBS, 1951- ). She left “Guiding Light” after three years, however, to pursue other work in television and features.

Dollar made a memorable impression as the anxiety-ridden Marcy Bender on a few episodes of “Dawson’s Creek” (Fox, 1997-2003), then landed guest spots on the short-lived road trip drama “Going to California” (Showtime, 2001-02) and the equally brief Richard Dreyfuss sitcom “The Education of Max Bickford” (CBS, 2001-02). After more small roles in “Amy and Isabelle” (ABC, 2000-01) and “Trapped: Buried Alive” (Pax TV, 2002), she finally secured her share of the spotlight with a regular role on “Point Pleasant” (Fox, 2004-05), a supernatural drama about a mysterious girl (Elisabeth Harnois) who washes onto the beach of an upper-crust community and is reluctantly taken into the home of a local doctor, only to later reveal that she is the spawn of a mortal woman and Satan. Dollar made the jump to features, landing small parts in “Prime” (2005) and “Failure to Launch” (2006), before returning to regular series work with a leading role on “Women’s Murder Club” (ABC, 2007- ), a spunky drama about four professional women – a journalist (Dollar), detective (Angie Harmon), Assistant DA (Laura Harris) and medical examiner (Paula Newsome) – who join forces to hunt down serial killers in San Francisco.
