After gaining stage experience in the New York Shakespeare Festival, the baby-faced Asian-American de la Fuente made his TV debut in a 3-part "ABC Afterschool Special" entitled "Summer Stories: The Mall" (1992). He played a small role as a college student in the comedy-drama feature "Roommates" (1995).
