This gifted juvenile performer first gained notice as the young Bette Midler in Garry Marshall's "Beaches" (1988). Compared by some to a young Midler or Streisand, the brash and multi-talented Bialik started her acting career in 1987 with a TV guest spot on the cult favorite, "Beauty and the Beast," and subsequently played a contemporary of the diminutive "Webster" on several episodes of that ABC sitcom. She continued to turn up in small roles on various TV shows until landing the titular role in "Molloy" (1990), a short-lived sitcom. Bialik struck gold the next time out as the star of NBC's teen smash "Blossom" NBC, 1991-1995). Her considerable charm and her ability to realistically convey the travails and foibles of teenage life make her one of the most appealing TV teens of the 1990s.

In 1994, Bialik made her TV movie debut--save for glorified extended movie-of-the-week episode "Blossom in Paris" (1993)--in Woody Allen's remake of "Don't Drink the Water" for ABC. Allen and Julie Kavner played her parents, and she had her eye on Michael J. Fox as love interest. She also had a small role in the 1988 horror film "Pumpkinhead," and has appeared on numerous TV specials, and she later enjoyed a steady career as a voiceover artist, appearing on such animated series and films as "Kim Possible," "Hey Arnold," "Johnny Bravo" and "Recess." After taking time away from the limelight to persue medical studies, Bialik resurfaced on television playing a comedic version of herself as Kirstie Alley's scheming neighbor on the Showtime comedy "Fat Actress" (2005 - ).
