Full Biography (Back to top)

A member of one of the most successful female pop groups in the history of recorded music, “Mel B” – a.k.a. “Scary Spice” and a.k.a. Melanie Brown – was at one time, best known as a member of The Spice Girls, the hit British music group that put “girl power” on the map and took the world by storm in 1996, reigning supreme for two years before dissolving amidst claims of animosity within the group. For the first time in six years, she reunited with her four bandmates to embark on a world tour December, 2007. Also a mother, entrepreneur and actress who starred as Mimi in “Rent” on Broadway and in “The Vagina Monologues” in London, the bubbly Brown also hosted the British TV series “This is My Moment.”

Endearing herself to American audiences while practicing for the Spice Girls reunion tour – and following a bitter paternity battle with her ex, Eddie Murphy, whom she rightfully claimed was the father of her daughter, Angel – she joined the fifth season of the popular reality competition, "Dancing with the Stars" (ABC, 2005- ). Partnered with the equally passionate professional dancer, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Mel B – as she was referred to on the show – charmed audiences with her humor and bawdy playfulness, as wel as mesmerized with her polished dance moves. She and Chmerkovskiy ended up in the finals, but lost out to Indy 500 drive, Helio Castroneves, and his professional partner, Julianne Hough.
