As Andie McPhee, the lithe blonde impressed Joshua Jackson's Pacey as well as viewers as Capeside's bright and charming new entrant. Positively gregarious in comparison to her somber onscreen brother Jack (played by Kerr Smith) and the other stars of the popular drama, Monroe was a lively addition. Her initial entry into series television was less successful, however, becoming a regular on ABC's "Dangerous Minds" in 1997 just weeks before the end of the drama's short run. Monroe followed up with guest spots on programs including "The Magnificent Seven" and "Promised Land" (both CBS) in 1998. A familiar face due to her extensive commercial work, she was cast in the title role of "Beyond the Prairie: The True Story of Laura Ingalls Wilder" (CBS, 1999), starring in this biopic about the author's years as a young wife.
