Narrow-faced, slender, haughty-looking character player, best known for his Cannes award-winning performance as Rita Tushingham's sympathetic gay friend in Tony Richardson's adaptation of Shelagh Delaney's "angry young woman" drama, "A Taste of Honey" (1961).
