This blonde ingenue first won attention as a teen playing the shy Maggie Sheffield, eldest charge of "The Nanny" (CBS, 1993-99). Nicholle Tom hails from an acting family: older sister Heather won a Daytime Emmy for her performance on the CBS soap "The Young and the Restless," and twin brother David played Robert Sean Leonard's younger sibling in 1993's "Swing Kids". She first started acting when her mother moved the brood to L.A. from Seattle, but it wasn't until the early 1990s that she began winning roles of substance on TV and in films.A 1991 guest appearance on "The Fresh Prince of Bel Air" was quickly followed by the recurring role of Sue Scanlon, whose brother had been shot to death, on the popular Fox drama "Beverly Hills, 90210". Tom landed the role of Ryce Newton in "Beethoven" (1992) and its sequel "Beethoven's 2nd" (1993) prior to being cast as the oldest charge of Fran Dresher's "The Nanny". The actress literally grew up on television, going from a gangly teen to a tall, sophisticated young woman.
