First earned attention with her role as an Ice Age woman in Jean-Jacques Annaud's prehistoric epic, "Quest for Fire" (1981). Chong won a Genie (the Canadian Oscar) for her performance, which involved speaking a special language devised by novelist Anthony Burgess.
