A character actor known primarily as an acting coach. Liss started off as a child player working on radio serials and later with Orson Welles' Mercury Theatre. He was seen in films like "Call Northside 777" (1948) with James Stewart and Lee J. Cobb, as well as "Mahogany" (1975) with Diana Ross and Billy Dee Williams. Liss formed the Ted Liss Studio Acting Workshop and coached actors Tom Bosley, Geraldine Page and Virginia Madsen.
