Levi’s first onscreen appearance was a supporting role in the television movie, “Big Shot: Confessions of a Campus Bookie,” (FX, 2002), followed by “See Jane Date,” (ABC Family, 2003). He also appeared on an episode of “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” (HBO, 2000- ) playing a bellman, as well as two episodes of “The Division” (Lifetime, 2001-04). On the big screen, he had a small role in the Martin Lawrence hit “Big Mamma’s House 2” (2006). Levi’s big break was the sitcom “Less Than Perfect” (ABC, 2002-06) where he played the part of Kipp Steadman, office nemesis of lead Sara Rue.
Making the transition from supporting parts to the lead role with “Chuck,” Levi played computer geek Chuck Bartowski, who gets the surprise of his life when his childhood friend, now working for the CIA, sends him an email containing all the government’s secrets. In this action adventure series with a decidedly comic twist, Levi’s Chuck mentally “downloads” all the secrets while caught in the computer’s hypnotic glare, and becomes both a sought-after government weapon and an unlikely undercover hero.
