Scoop: Three very different U.S. soldiers (Michael Pena, Rachel McAdams and Tim Robbins), arrive in N.Y. from Germany only to find their connecting flights canceled. Anxious to get to their respective destinations, they agree to rent a minivan to get to suburban St. Louis. But when one’s homecoming turns out to be a bust, the trio’s one-day drive expands into an impromptu cross-country marathon of unlikely companionship.
If a Picture Is Worth a Thousand Words, We Say: Troops in full civilian gear, with only a hint of army fatigue on a back-pack--there must be a big effort in this film to connect these service people to everyday folk; especially in that it's a road trip flick.
