PILGRIM CASTING HEATS UP
The casting of cult comic-book Scott Pilgrim vs the World is getting curiouser and curiouser. It starts with Hot Fuzz director Edgar Wright’s odd choice of Michael Cera to play the cool Scott, a guy in a rock band, "between jobs," who falls for the dangerously fashionable, roller-blading delivery girl named Ramona Flowers and must defeat her seven evil ex-boyfriends before he can find true happiness. Then he cast Live Free or Die Hard's Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Ramona and newcomer Ellen Wong as Knives Chau, a 17-year-old Chinese-Canadian schoolgirl who dated our title hero but was dumped for the beautiful and perfect Ramona. She continues to hang out with our hero and carries a flame for him. Now, according to Cinematical, Chris Evans has joined the club as Lucas Lee, skateboarder, movie star, and evil ex of Ramona. Color me intrigued.
