A TOMB RAIDER REDO?
The popular videogame about the curvaceous daredevil archaeologist Lara Croft and her global artifact-finding missions may get a new life on the big screen. Of course, Angelina Jolie already embodied Croft in two Paramount movies, but the rights have since reverted to Eidos, the London-based videogame company that created the game. When Time Warner upped its stake in Eidos to 19.92 percent in December, films rights to the property were included as part of the deal -- and Warner's took over, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The new project is expected to revamp the character and her mission -- and bears little resemblance to the original pictures. It will re-imagine the origins of the character, add a love interest and a villain. Can’t imagine anyone else playing Croft, though.
