When and Where? June 23 on NBC
Who? Nick Cannon, Piers Morgan, Sharon Osbourne, David Hasselhoff
In store for this season: Jerry Springer is out and Mr. Mariah is in. Cannon sure doesn’t have a lot in common with Springer -- which should tell you that all it takes to be a successful talent-show host these days is a recognizable face and the ability to speak -- but the new guy has proven himself to be a capable and fun personality in past TV ventures. Never mind the host -- how this season ends up will rely on just one factor: the talent pool. Some will fizzle and some will shine, but here’s hoping that America has its own awesome version of Susan Boyle waiting in the wings.
