"It was pretty solid the way it played," Fox distribution president Bruce Snyder said Sunday morning. "I was hoping, perhaps, for a little bit more in the total, but day to day it was having good bumps, so I'm hopeful."
20th Century Fox's PG-13 rated romantic comedy Shallow Hal fell two rungs to fifth place in its third week with a less engaging ESTIMATED $12.53 million at 2,643 theaters (-156 theaters; $4,706 per theater). Its cume is approximately $55.4 million, heading for $70 million-plus in domestic theaters. (Hal's three-day gross for the Friday-Sunday weekend was an ESTIMATED $8.96 million.)

Buena Vista/Touchstone and Spyglass Entertainment's PG-13 snowboarding adventure Out Cold kicked off to a chilly ESTIMATED $6.9 million at 2,011 theaters ($3,445 per theater). (Cold's three-day gross for the Friday-Sunday weekend was an ESTIMATED $4.7 million.)

Paramount's PG-13 rated thriller Domestic Disturbance slid three slots to seventh place in its fourth week with a slow ESTIMATED $5.5 million at 2,386 theaters (-495 theaters; $2,292 per theater). Its cume is approximately $40.0 million, heading for $45 million. (Domestic's three-day gross for the Friday-Sunday weekend was an ESTIMATED $4.16 million.)
