What We Think:
Disney pays homage to the old school with its latest animated effort, reviving the lost art of hand-drawn animation for this comic fairy tale. Set in New Orleans’ fabled French Quarter during the Jazz Age, The Princess and the Frog tells the story of a frog with royal roots who wants desperately to leave his amphibious life behind and reclaim his noble title. In order to do it, he’ll need to convince a beautiful girl named Tiana that he’s the real deal.

Renowned maestro Randy Newman, nominated for seventeen Oscars during his illustrious career, composed the music for the film.

Cool to Know:
This is the first Disney movie to feature an African-American Princess.
