Bobby Cannavale will star in Tom McCarthy’s comic drama,
Win Win. McCarthy, best known for, "The Station Agent” and “The Visitor” co-wrote the story about a struggling attorney (Giamatti) who moonlights as a high school wrestling coach. All aspects of his life are thrown in the air when he becomes the legal guardian of a client whose grandson shows up on his doorstep. Cannavale previously worked with McCarthy in
Station Agent. Another former McCarthy collaborator, Richard Jenkins – who won critical raves for his role in “The Visitor” – has joined a comedy of his own,
Hall Pass. We’ve been talking about this Farrelly brothers film for a while as the cast grows to now include
Owen Wilson,
Jason Sudeikis,
Christina Applegate and
Jenna Fischer.

John Krasinski is in negotiations for a romantic comedy,
Something Borrowed. The film, which also stars
Ginnifer Goodwin, centers on a lawyer who is the consummate good girl until she falls in love with her best friend’s fiancé on her 30th birthday. Another “Office” mate, the increasingly busy
Ed Helms, will star opposite
Jason Segel in Paramount’s
Jeff Who Lives at Home. The stoner comedy will be directed by brothers Mark and Jay Duplass, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Written by the brothers, the film chronicles a day in the life of two brothers, one a loser (Segel) who lives at home and the other (Helms) more together but overbearing.
Although Krasinski had been voted as the fans favorite to play the title role in
Captain America, it was revealed this week that he is in fact not in the running for the role. A villain, however, has been cast. Hugo Weaving, probably best known for
The Matrix films, will play Red Skull in the Marvel film. Joe Johnston is directing. Speaking of villains,
Avatar’s Stephen Lang has been confirmed to play the bad guy in the upcoming
Conan reboot.
