CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, William Petersen's Farewell Episode
(Thursday, Jan. 15, 2009)

Nine years later, Petersen has had enough — say goodbye to Gil Grissom. In tonight's episode, Grissom's looking to solve a murder and a kidnapping alongside criminal pathologist Dr. Raymond Langston (Laurence Fishburne) because, evidently, the wrong-doings might be connected to an imprisoned serial killer who was a part of a class that Langston taught and Grissom monitored. Anyway, Langston begins connecting-the-dots so well that Grissom offers him the big ballin' job. So, Grissom doesn't die in a plane crash; he doesn't get a brain tumor — it's just a simple, respectable exit. We'll see if Fishburne delivers the kind of awesomeness to sate the diehard Petersen fans (and co-stars, like Marg Helgenberger who can't stop crying about it). Meanwhile, we're promised a guest appearance out of Petersen now and again — if he can be pried away from the Chicago theater stage. Plus, Taylor Swift is joining the set any minute now as a troubled teenager with parents that own a motel. Her hair will be totally different.
