DO IT TODAY: 'Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew' Finale

Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew
(Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008)

It became evident, almost immediately, that Gary Busey was the beacon of unbelievable awesomeness this season. Sober of cocaine for 13 years, he proclaimed himself a mentor, not a patient — though Dr. Drew was quick to call B.S. Despite a brain injury, Busey still thunk up some “Busey-isms” (Faith: Fantastic Adventures in Trusting Him; Sober: Son of a Bitch Everything’s Real), which model Amber Smith, who arrived with a week’s worth of prescription drugs, appreciated very much. But … she also felt that Busey was “crazier than she is.” Nevertheless, Busey is approaching graduation along with the others: Steven Adler of Guns ‘n’ Roses, who once attempted suicide with 100 Valiums, a botter of Jager, plus heroine; plus, the just-alcohol Rodney King, the multi-raped Nikki McKibbin of Idol’s past, and the return of Jeff Conaway, who treats everyone to a very violent outburst tonight. Another treat: The patients view clips of their best and worst moments, and are forced to wonder, “Now what?” Who will go into full-time "sober living" — and who will try to strike out on their own?
