John McCain on David Letterman
(Thursday, Oct. 16, 2008)

Well, well, well … John McCain will finally show face (full of carefully applied makeup, natch). Nearly a month ago, the Presidential candidate stood Letterman up at the 11th hour, citing that he needed to bust a move to Washington to deal with the economic drama. Except Letterman discovered that McCain … NEVER LEFT NEW YORK. Needless to say, ol' Dave was irked -- confessing to his audience that he felt "used," "cheap," "sullied" and "like an ugly date" because McCain ditched him for a pampering manicure. But bruised ego or not, Letterman has serious history with the Senator, who's appeared on the show a dozen times. Letterman could likely forgive McCain if -- as his campaign has hinted -- his VP hopeful Sarah Palin joins him on the couch.
