Too bad for this remarkable, underrated series that vampires weren't cool yet in 2007. But Twilight and True Blood be damned, Moonlight's Mick St. John (Alex O'Loughlin) was excellently (and sexily) sucking blood long before Edward Cullen/Robert Pattinson invaded our peripheral fanged vision. The good news is, now that you're well-versed in all things vampire, you'll understand why the immortal Mick has "chosen" that single beautiful woman (Sophia Myles) to love, but mostly, to protect — she thinks he's just an L.A. private eye. Meanwhile, he's haunted by his beguiling ex (Shannyn Sossamon), the very biter that took away his mortality, and she dons outdated nightgowns whilst hanging from ceilings.
