Pineapple Express DVD
(Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009)
Duuude. It was a puff of the good stuff — ahem, weed called "Pineapple Express" — that transformed Seth Rogen's and James Franco's friendly little stoner flick into a full-fledged murder-was-the-case-that-they-gave-'em thriller. In the two-disc Unrated Special Edition, you get a gag reel. In Blu-ray, you get a game called Ride the Express, and you have to avoid killer pineapples. In any DVD form, you get a ton of deleted scenes, a variety of (equally terrific) line deliveries, an injury report of all boo-boos sustained, the smoking of some top-secret government pot called "Item 9" — and of course, Franco's adorable half-shut-eye high-as-hell grin, Rogen's plethora of "you've been served" outfits, and Danny McBride's very memorable fake revolver demo ("Don't. Stop it."). YESTERDAY'S DO-IT: Where in the Upper East Side world is Chuck Bass?!
