Taken

The Uninvited!? Horror is so tired. So is Renee Zellweger (New in Town). We say: Gimme Liam Neeson with a gun and a Bourne 'tude. What's "taken" is his 17-year-old daughter + BFF, who half-lied to Daddy about trekking around Europe to follow U2's tour schedule. This arouses the former CIA operative out of Neeson, and a whole lot of amazing, aggressive, balls-out revenge ensues — and you're like: Wow. Liam's legit. It's no matter that French action/thriller, writer/director Luc Besson (Transporter 1, 2 and 3) has the esteemed Oscar nominee uttering lines like, "Jean-Claude, I will tear down the Eiffel Tower if I have to!" But really … a menacing-sounding Liam is convincing. Plus, it's just 91 minutes of growling adrenaline — a nice little breather from catching up with Oscar-nominated boo-hoos like The Reader.
