Why We Loved It So Much: It’s encouraging to see our Joey Potter (aka Katie Holmes) do something a touch more professionally productive than hanging out with Suri at the Grove. If we remember Go and Wonder Boys correctly, Holmes has a lot of talent; she just hasn’t done a single thing (worth recapping) that’s required her to use it for years -- unless you count the extended Stepford Wife performance that is her spooky, spooky life.

And Now, Not So Much: So You Think You Can Dance? Really? Jeez, it ain't even Dancing With the Stars. All SYTYCD is known for is Mary Murphy and her one-way ticket to Crazytown. Holmes’ hubbie Tom Cruise rode that train into the sunset several years ago ... so maybe the whole thing makes sense.

The dish on the performance, according to Us Weekly, is that Holmes’ performance is a tribute to Judy Garland in which she “dons an all-black ensemble similar to Garland's: black velvet fedora, patent leather heels, nylon stockings, body-hugging skirt and micro-mini skirt.” The article also says that Holmes “twirls her hair and seductively shakes her hips."

What? Hair-twirling? Seductive hip-shaking? Our high school prom was more lascivious. We’ll watch the performance (airdate TBD) out of curiosity, but we’re pretty sure it’s going to confirm what we’ve long suspected: Katie Holmes is Dunzo.
