Dunzo! Ryan Reynolds' Rom-Coms

Why We Loved It So Much: There's an attraction to Ryan Reynolds we cannot explain. It might have something to do with Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place, although it’s definitely not because of Van Wilder. There’s something undeniably compelling about Reynolds' classic pretty-boy looks, the slimy humor of Waiting and the major dude-cred of marrying ScarJo that makes us love him in spite of, well, himself.
Now, Not So Much: A foray into the world of romantic comedy is a proud point of reference on many an icon’s resume. Tom Hanks had Sleepless in Seattle, Jack Nicholson was great in Something's Gotta Give and Gregory Peck charmed the tiara off Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday. We fear, however, that Reynolds' history of rom-com clunkers, like Buying the Cow, The In-Laws, Just Friends and Definitely, Maybe, puts him at risk of an exclusive Matthew McConaughey-style career slide (it seems that for every David Wooderson in Dazed and Confused, the McConaughey has done two Benjamin Finnegans in Fool's Gold -- is this what you want, Reynolds?). It’d be a sad shame to see Reynolds assigned the same cheesy, chained-to-Kate Hudson-type fate. The Proposal might be darling (many grains of salt with "might"), and we always love us some Sandra Bullock (hell, so does McConaughey!), but Reynolds oughta ditch his girly fare for the Wolverine/Deadpool flick. His credibility is riding on it.
