Her Current Gig: A fourth American Idol judge. Kara Dioguardi joins Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson for the eighth season of Fox’s unstoppable reality show.
You Know This Face … if you’re in the music biz, otherwise you just know the sound of her music. Dioguardi writes for the biggest stars in the industry, from Britney Spears to Celine Dion. Think Pink’s new “Sober,” David Archuleta’s “To Be With You” and Christina Aguilera’s “No Other Man,” all co-written by Dioguardi. More than 165 of her songs have made it onto multi-platinum albums.
Why So Fresh? She doesn’t need this job. Technically she probably doesn’t need a job at all. Let’s just hope Idol doesn’t distract from her true talent … pumping out the hits.
In Her Own Words ... “[Simon] breaks the tie and that is a lot of power because there are times we are fighting,” she tells Access Hollywood of having an even number of Idol judges. “When he’s going against what I’m feeling it makes me feisty and [I] want to fight with him. I’m definitely one of those people who has an opinion, when I believe in something I’m going to go for it and I’m going to make sure I fight for who I want to get through.”
