Pokemon Go recently added a couple of second generation Pokemon. While we’re anxiously awaiting the full role out (there are 100 new Pokemon from Gold and Silver), you can catch the newest additions as early as this week.
Pokemon Go’s newest additions aren’t ones you’ll find running around in the wild. In fact, you’re going to need to walk around quite a bit to snatch up those Togepis and Pichus. The newest additions are all adorable, second-gen baby Pokemon which you’ll have to hatch from an egg found at select Pokestops.
And they’re really cute!
Hatching an egg is a trying task, especially if you’re the kind of player who only walks during their commute to work. There are various kinds of eggs with various hatching patterns, but one Pokemon Go player Alejandro “Alex” Gil created a pretty accurate guide to egg-hatching that outlines which eggs will lead you to the new Pokemon.
Here’s a quick outline:
Two Kilometer Eggs:
Igglybuff and Cleffa, the pre-evolved forms of Jigglypuff and Clefairy respectively, hatch from the least amount of walking.
Five Kilometer Eggs:
To hatch Pichu (the pre-evolved form of Pikachu) and Togepi, you’ll need to walk five kilometers with an egg.
Ten Kilometer Eggs:
Smoochum, Elekid and Magby (the pre-evolved forms of Jynx, Electabuzz and Magmar) only hatch from 10 kilometer eggs.
Pokemon Go also released a limited-edition holiday version of Pikachu wearing a little santa hat. The Pikachu will be available in larger quantities than normal from December 12th to December 29th. This is a great way to stock up on Pikachu candies too. We’re dying over how cute he is!
