A Good ‘Angle’ for Sabato

In an attempt to beef up its action programming, Pearson Television has unveiled plans for a new series starring Italian model/actor Antonio Sabato Jr. “Lean Angle” will be centered on the world of professional motorcycle racing, with Sabato doing most of the riding himself.

The scenes will be shot throughout the world, according to The Hollywood Reporter, and will have the look and feel of the classic motor racing film “Grand Prix.”

Patrick Hasburgh has been named executive producer. His credits include “21 Jump Street” and “Sunset Heat” with George Clooney.

REGIS SEES RED: It took a red-nosed reindeer to beat Regis Philbin. CBS’ 37th annual airing of “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” beat “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” as well as the Billboard Music Awards in the ratings Tuesday, Reuters reports.

“Rudolph” delivered a 6.2 rating, 16 share in the coveted 18-49 demographic. It also won the hour for CBS in adults 25-54 (6.5/16) and kids (9.9/30).

LAKE EXPECTING SECOND CHILD: Daytime gabber Ricki Lake has been doing more than just taking lately. Lake announced that she is pregnant with her second child, The Associated Press reports.

She announced that she was three months along Wednesday while she was a guest on ABC’s “The View.” She and husband Rob Sussman already have a 3-year-old son, Milo.
