A Time To Kill set for Broadway stage

John Grisham’s crime thriller A Time To Kill is heading to Broadway later this year (13). The 1989 book inspired a Hollywood movie starring Matthew McConaughey as a young white lawyer defending an African-American man accused of murder, and now the story is being adapted for the stage.
The live version will open at the John Golden Theatre this autumn (13).
The author, whose novels The Firm and The Client have also spawned big-screen versions, says, “It was my first book and the first that I have allowed to be adapted for the theatre. I am happy that not only my loyal readers but a whole new audience will be able to experience this story in live theatre.”
Grisham is also working on a sequel to A Time to Kill, entitled Sycamore Row.
