Aaron Paul: ‘I wish I’d nabbed more Breaking Bad props!’

Aaron Paul wishes he had taken more from the Breaking Bad set.
The 37-year-old actor became a household name thanks to his role as Jesse Pinkman in the hit U.S. TV show. While the programme, which starred Bryan Cranston as a maths teacher turned drug cook, came to an end in 2013, Aaron made sure he nabbed some memorabilia from the set.
However, his main regret is that he didn’t take enough.
“I always think to myself, I wish I took more!” Aaron laughed in an interview with Big Issue magazine. “If I had to pick one (favourite prop), it would have to be the burnt pink teddy bear that fell from the plane and landed in Walter White’s pool in season two. They had four of those bears made specifically for the show but Vince (Gilligan, director) only wanted to use this one particular bear.
“That bear was in Vince’s possession ever since the second season, and when we wrapped the show he gave it to me as a gift. He knew how much I loved that damn bear. It sits in a glass case in my office, near quite a few other pieces of Breaking Bad memorabilia.”
Since his time on Breaking Bad, Aaron has starred in various movies, including Need for Speed and Eye in the Sky, receiving varying levels of success.
But the baby-faced heartthrob is hoping to recreate his former stardom with his role on Hulu’s The Path, which he feels reflects the current ‘golden age for television’.
Aaron also touched on his political views during the interview. This November (16) will see businessman-turned-politician Donald Trump compete against Hillary Clinton to become the next president of the United States, but Aaron is dreading what will happen if Trump gets in.
“It’s very scary,” he continued. “This person should not be in control of anything, let alone a country. It’s a terrifying thing to think about. I just strongly encourage everyone to get out there and vote.
“If someone says it (a Trump presidency) is not a possibility, they’re in denial. If it happens, God forbid, I wouldn’t know what to do… I would jump ship. I would be terrified. I’d go somewhere safe and bring my entire family with me.”
