Aaron Taylor-Johnson glad he missed Fifty Shades of Grey role

British actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson is adamant his director wife made the right decision not to cast him in her big screen adaptation of Fifty Shades Of Grey. Sam Taylor-Johnson is overseeing the movie version of E. L. James’ saucy book, which will be led by Northern Irish actor Jamie Dornan as sadomasochist millionaire Christian Grey.
Before his wife was attached as director, fans of the book suggested Kick-Ass hunk Taylor-Johnson should be in the running for the lead role, but the Brit admits it would have been a bad decision.
He tells Nylon Guys magazine, “I think it would have been the wrong kind of hype to bring toward us. It would have been kind of funny that this character that all these women fancy – he’s one in a million – and my wife picks her husband to play the part?
“I would love to have done something together again, but it wouldn’t have been Fifty. We were both on the same page.”
The pair met on the set of 2009 movie Nowhere Boy, in which Taylor-Johnson portrayed a young John Lennon.
