ABC still looking like a million

During the same week that ABC announced that it was cutting Who Wants to Be a Millionaire from four shows per week to two, all four of the game show’s weekly episodes landed in the Nielsen top ten — including first, second and third positions. (A fourth episode came in sixth.) Nevertheless, CBS finished the week with the highest average household ratings, a 6.1 with an 11 share, followed by ABC with a 5.3/10. NBC with close behind with a 5.2/10, while Fox finished last with a 3.4/6.

The top 10 shows of the week according to Nielsen Research:

CBS Wednesday Movie: Murder at 75 Birch, CBS, 8.3/15; 5. 60 Minutes, CBS, 8.2/17; 6. Millionaire (Friday), ABC, 8.1/16; 7. Fear Factor, NBC, 8.0/14; 8. Everybody Loves Raymond, CBS, 7.8/13; 9. CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, CBS, 7.5/13; 9. Law and Order, NBC, 7.5/13; 9. Weakest Link, NBC, 7.5/12.
