Gotham star Chris Chalk became a married man on Saturday (22Apr17).
The actor tied the knot with his actress fiancee Kimberley Dalton Mitchell during an intimate outdoor ceremony at the North Carolina Arboretum in his hometown of Asheville, North Carolina surrounded by family and friends. His Underground co-stars Alano Miller and DeWanda Wise, who first introduced the couple, were also in attendance, serving as best man and maid of honor.
Pictures obtained by Us Weekly show Kimberley wearing a semi-sheer lace gown and veil and Chris wearing a white suit jacket and black trousers. The shoot, which includes snaps of the newlyweds walking back down the aisle, also featured romantic pictures of them posing in the venue’s gardens.
Following the ceremony, guests were transported to the reception at the Grand Bohemian Hotel in Asheville by traditional yellow school buses.
“I think there’s something about a school bus that immediately humbles you. It’s fun,” Chris explained.
“We didn’t want people driving up the mountain after (drinking champagne at the ceremony).”
They served food such as shrimp and grits, duck confit, salmon, steak for the guests and had a waffle and bacon bar at the reception, where they asked a DJ to play all the current hits.

“We told our DJ, ‘Pretend you’re DJ-ing for the club,'” Kimberley said. “That’s what we want. Just trying to throw the ultimate dance party.”
The couple got engaged in September (16).
