Actor Eddie Jones dies

Dean Cain’s TV dad Eddie Jones has died at the age of 84.
The veteran actor passed away on Saturday (06Jul19), according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Jones was famed for his role as Pa Kent on hit TV series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, in which Cain portrayed the titular DC Comics superhero, aka Clark Kent, for four seasons from 1993 to 1997.
He also featured in movies such as Bloodbrothers in 1978, 1983’s Trading Places, The Grifters (1990), Return to Me (2000), and The Terminal (2004), as well as A League of Their Own in 1992, and Seabiscuit in 2003.
Jones’ other TV credits included The Invisible Man, Veep, and Aquarius.
The Pennsylvania native was also a star onstage, serving as Charles Durning’s understudy in the original 1972 Broadway production of That Championship Season, and going on to star in Sam Shepard’s 1978 tragedy Curse of the Starving Class.
