Actor Elliott Reid dies at 93

Gentlemen Prefer Blondes star Elliott Reid has died at the age of 93. The actor suffered heart failure and passed away at an assisted-living facility in Studio City, California on Friday (21Jun13), reports the Los Angeles Times.
Born Edgeworth Blair Reid, he began his career voicing characters in radio dramas during the 1940s before making the transition to film.
He scored a string of roles in films such as The Story of Dr. Wassell and Vicki before rising to prominence in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes in 1953, starring alongside Marilyn Monroe and Jane Russell.
He was also known for his work in 1961’s The Absent-Minded Professor and its sequel, Son of Flubber, and he made appearances on TV series including Murder, She Wrote, I Love Lucy, Perry Mason and The Odd Couple.
Reid retired from acting in 1995, aged 75.
