Actress Kassie DePaiva battling leukaemia

U.S. soap star Kassie DePaiva has been diagnosed with leukaemia.
The Days of Our Lives actress, who portrays returning character Eve Donovan in the longrunning series, has opened up about her cancer fight on her personal website, revealing she began treatment almost immediately after learning she was battling the disease last month (Jul16).
“I know that I have been quiet lately and I want to let you know what’s been going on in my life,” she began. “I was asked back to play Eve on Days and had begun my exciting return. During the 3 week July hiatus I was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia and have spent six of the last nine weeks in the hospital.”
The 55-year-old, who is also known for her former stint on One Life to Live, is scheduled to continue her treatment for the next three months, and she and her doctors are convinced she will make a full recovery.
“I consider this just a bump in the road,” she continued. “I have amazing prayer warriors, family, and friends that have been extremely supportive and life affirming throughout this. I have a strong faith that strengthens me every step of the way.
“This has been a private matter but with Eve’s return coming soon I felt it was time to let my loving fans know what’s been going on… Keep me in your thoughts and prayers.”
