American TV star and comedian Ahmed Ahmed will no longer face domestic violence charges after prosecutors decided to drop the case due to lack of evidence. The Egyptian-born actor was arrested in January (14) on suspicion of felony domestic violence after a concerned caller told police they could hear sounds of a fight from inside a Los Angeles home.
Officers reportedly found Ahmed and a female, thought to be his girlfriend, when they responded to the call and the Sullivan & Son star was arrested at the scene.
However, prosecutors have now decided not to pursue the charges, and the Los Angeles City Attorney will formally reject the case on Monday (24Feb14) due to insufficient evidence, editors at TMZ.com report.
