Aidan Quinn Pleads Guilty to Drunken Driving

Actor Aidan Quinn‘s driver’s license has been suspended for three months, after
he pleaded guilty to a drunken driving charge in Maine.

Quinn didn’t appear in Kennebec County Superior Court on April 21,
where his plea was entered through his lawyer, Michaela Murphy. As well as having his license suspended, Quinn, 46, was ordered to pay a $500 fine.

New Jersey resident Quinn was arrested by Waterville police on 25 October
2003, after he was observed driving erratically. After he was pulled over, a
test revealed his blood-alcohol content was 0.12 per cent. The legal limit for
drunken driving in Maine is 0.08 per cent.

The guilty plea came as a last resort following unsuccessful motions to
suppress evidence and to have the case thrown out of court.

Quinn was in Maine shooting scenes for the HBO movie Empire Falls, which will
be unveiled next month.
