Ailing David Cassidy thanks fans for support

Veteran singer/actor David Cassidy is thankful for his fans’ support after going public with his dementia battle.
The former The Partridge Family star revealed he had recently been diagnosed with the memory loss condition on Monday (20Feb17), suggesting the health issue was to blame for a worrying weekend (18Feb17) performance when he fell offstage in Agoura, California and forgot the lyrics to a number of his hit songs.
Cassidy has since been inundated with supportive messages from devotees on social media – and on Tuesday (21Feb17), he expressed his sincere gratitude for the warm wishes.
“Thank you to everyone who has reached out offering their love and support,” he wrote on Twitter.
Cassidy’s post came hours after TV footage aired from a pre-taped interview on Access Hollywood Live, during which it was clear he was struggling with his ailment.
The 66-year-old recently announced he had decided to quit touring, blaming this decision on his struggle with arthritis.
