Alabama and Sam Moore land Nashville honours

Country stars Alabama and soul singer Sam Moore are set to receive stars on the Music City Walk of Fame in Nashville, Tennessee.
The artists will be honoured for their creative contributions to the city and its musical heritage at a special ceremony on 26 May (16) at the Walk of Fame Park, reports TheBoot.com.
“This year’s inductees to the Music City Walk of Fame prove once again the dazzling scope and sweep of Nashville’s musical history,” says Nashville Mayor Megan Barry.
Praising Alabama’s Jeff Cook, Teddy Gentry and Randy Owen, she continues, “Alabama is one of the great country groups of all time. They created a stunning blend of voices and musical styles to top the charts over and over and over again.”
She adds, “Sam Moore’s incredible vocals and stage moves helped make Sam & Dave one of the finest rhythm and blues acts in music history.”
The two acts join the likes of 2015 honourees Johnny Cash, Garth Brooks, his wife Trisha Yearwood, and Miranda Lambert on the Music City Walk of Fame.
