Alan Cumming wants to quit directing

Scottish actor Alan Cumming wants to quit directing movies after just two attempts. The Good Wife star took charge of a TV series and a short before moving into filmmaking with 2001’s The Anniversary Party and 2007 horror comedy Ghost Writer.
He has not directed since and is reluctant to helm another movie because he disliked the experience, telling Australia’s Herald Sun newspaper, “It was a traumatic experience and I kind of went off it. I like directing very much, but even on smaller films like Ghost Writer, you have to deal with such a lot of annoyance. It’s a big commitment to ignore all the other things you are doing just to focus on that for a long period of time.”
