Alexa Chung lands L’Oreal spokesperson role

Alexa Chung is the latest star to be tapped by L’Oreal.
The British style star is L’Oreal Professionnel’s new International Spokesperson for 2018, and will be on hand to launch two new products; Parisian Nudes, the brand’s new Parisian chic hair colour collection, and Pro Fiber, the brand’s star long-lasting hair repair range that will be renovated in 2018.
“A Fashion designer, TV presenter, model, creative consultant and writer, Alexa Chung is one of the most recognisable style icons of her generation,” a brand spokesperson said in a statement. “She is the most Parisian of Londoners and her effortlessly chic style strongly resonates with L’Oreal Professionnel’s fashion and Parisian anchorage.”
Taking to her Instagram on Wednesday (03Jan17), Alexa shared a campaign shot and told her 2.9 million followers: “Woop woop! Very happy to be joining the @lorealpro family this year. Presumably because I pretend to be French a lot, I am the muse for their #ParisianNudes collection. #lorealpro #sponsored #maisoui.”
After starting out as a model, 34-year-old Alexa found fame as a TV presenter, before going back to her fashion roots. In recent years she’s fronted campaigns for Longchamp, was hired as the artistic director for Australian footwear brand Ugg and worked as the guest editor for Tommy Hilfiger’s Fall 2014 collection.
She’s also designed for Marks & Spencer and launched her own eponymous fashion line in 2017.
“I feel as though I’m kind of prepared to do it now. If it had been any time sooner than this, I either wouldn’t be responsible enough or have been able to take on this kind of feat,” she previously told Business of Fashion of curating her own label.
