Alice Eve despised ‘catty’ Oxford professors

The Sex and the City 2 star studied English at Oxford’s St Catherine’s College before carving out her Hollywood career, but admits “catty” lecturers ruined her educational experience.

She tells Flaunt Magazine, “Sadly, I never fell in love with Oxford. There’s nothing as b**chy as professors in academics. They’re unflinching. That absolutist attitude, it’s dictatorial, really. When I left, I entered the world of entertainment, which is the opposite of academia, but just as catty.”

However, Oxford did give Eve a taste for the spotlight after she performed in a number of student productions.

She adds, “There’s a great camaraderie and family feeling in theatre, and there’s a great pleasure in making something, and seeing it live on, beyond the time that you did it. That’s both the magic and the sadness of theatre. When it’s done, it’s done. That production will never be made again. It’s a memory. When you make a film, it’s there forever.”
