Alicia Keys adds girl power to management

Singer Alicia Keys’ longtime sidekick has become the star’s new manager.
The multi-Grammy Award winner has hired Erika Rose to take on her business affairs after ending her links to Maverick and music mogul Guy Oseary, who has managed her since 2014.
Erika started out as Alicia’s road manager before becoming an integral part of the singer’s creative and business projects, handling her album launches and tours, as well as movie and charity projects.
She became the artist’s official co-manager in 2010 when the New Yorker signed with Red Light Management.
“Erika has played an instrumental role in my artistry since day one,” Alicia told Billboard magazine. “She is a strategic manager who makes smart decisions and understands the balance between business and creative endeavours.
“I feel a great sense of trust and clarity knowing she will be holding the reins of my career as my business partner.”
The new business arrangement comes amid reports suggesting the singer is recording a new back-to-basics album, which is set for release later this year. The soulful singer is also rumoured to be planning a world tour toward the end of 2017.
“The best time of my life is yet to come,” she added.
Alicia’s fans can’t wait for her new music after the 35-year-old recently told U.S. broadcaster Gayle King’s Hearst masterclass,
“I love what I do, I love music, it’s so powerful. What’s becoming more evident is that I’m becoming more powerful. I’m getting more clarity and more wisdom of what’s happening in the world and how to talk about it, how to access my feelings more.
“You should be out of your mind with excitement for this music.”
