Alicia Keys closes in on HIV fundraising target

Alicia Keys is closing in on her fundraising target of $25,000 (£16,666) to help women suffering from the HIV virus. The Fallin’ singer is leading the public information campaign Empowered with organisation AIDS United and has helped to raise $23,732 (£15,821) with just six days of the campaign left.
Keys took to her Twitter.com account on Tuesday (08Oct13) to call for one last push and urge her fans to donate the remaining amount, writing, “Our EMPOWERED project2 (to) help women w/#HIV (with HIV) across the US is 91% funded! We’re so close! Please join me in helping them.”
