Actress Amanda Seyfried has given up hope of a cast reunion to celebrate the 10th anniversary of her first film, Mean Girls.
Rumours of a new movie to mark a decade since the 2004 film’s release circulated earlier this year (14), but writer Tina Fey quickly denied the stars would be working together to celebrate the milestone. Mamma Mia! actress Seyfried has now confirmed there are no plans for a special event and she is disappointed she will not get the chance to celebrate the occasion with co-stars Lindsay Lohan and Rachel McAdams.
Asked during an interview with Australian radio presenter Kent ‘Smallzy’ Small about the chance of a Mean Girls get together this year, she says, “I’m thinking it’s a no. I mean, I don’t know why we haven’t discussed any kind of reunion… “Lindsay and I were in actual high school when we shot the movie, or I had just graduated from high school, so I was still 17. So it really would be like going back to high school, and maybe it’s better that we didn’t. But I don’t know, it would’ve been nice to celebrate it with everybody because it was such a moment.”
